How to Add Your First Activity

Adding your first activity in 52weekx is the beginning of your adventure journey. This guide will walk you through discovering activities and adding them to your weekly schedule.

Finding Activities

Use Smart Search

The easiest way to find activities is through our smart search feature:

  1. Tap the search bar at the top of the main screen
  2. Describe how you're feeling or what you want to do:
    • "I'm feeling restless"
    • "Need some exercise"
    • "Want to be creative"
    • "Looking for something social"
  3. Browse the suggestions that appear based on your search

Browse Categories

You can also explore activities by category:

  1. Scroll down on the activity selection screen to see activity categories
  2. Tap on a category that interests you
  3. Browse through the activities in that category

Adding an Activity

Once you've found an activity you want to try:

Step 1: Select the Activity
Tap on the activity card to view more details about it.

Step 2: Review the Details
Read through the activity description.

Step 3: Add to Schedule
Tap the "Schedule" button or the "+" icon to add it to your weekly plan.

Step 4: Choose Your Week
Select which week you want to schedule this activity for. You can choose the current week or plan ahead.

Customizing Your Activity

After adding an activity, you can customize it to fit your needs:

Set Reminders

  • Tap on the activity in your schedule
  • Select "Set Reminder" to get notifications
  • Choose when you want to be reminded (day before, morning of, etc.)

Add Personal Notes

  • Open the activity from your schedule
  • Tap the text box to include personal thoughts
  • Save your changes when you're done

Adjust Timing

  • Edit the activity to change when you plan to do it
  • Move to a different day if your schedule changes

Your First Activity Tips

Here are some suggestions for making your first activity experience great:

Start Simple

Choose something that:

  • Doesn't require expensive equipment
  • Can be done near your home
  • Takes 1-2 hours maximum
  • Matches your current fitness/skill level

Prepare in Advance

  • Check the weather if it's an outdoor activity
  • Gather any materials you might need
  • Tell a friend about your plan for accountability

Need More Activities?

You can't add more than one activity per week, trying something new should never put pressure on you.

Can't Find What You're Looking For?

If you can't find an activity that interests you, try:

  • Using different keywords in your search
  • Browsing different categories
  • Being more specific about your mood or interests
  • Trying broader terms like "outdoor" or "creative"
  • If you still cant find it, contact us to suggest the activity

Completing Your First Activity

After you do your first activity:

  1. Open the activity in your schedule
  2. Mark it as complete by tapping the checkmark
  3. Add photos if you took any during the activity
  4. Write in your journal about how it went
